Steve's personal tuition covers three levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced depending on how advanced your playing is and what you want to learn."

Beginners
Full program covering the very basics of bass playing, tailored to suit each pupil:

*Holding and positioning the bass
*Creating a good sound
*Left and right hand techniques and fingerboard patterns
*Learning songs and playing as a band member
*Musical styles and theory

Intermediate
Expanding the knowledge of bass playing

*Development of styles, techniques, music theory and reading depending on pupil requirements
*Styles: Rock, Pop, Jazz, Latin, Funk, Soul, Disco ..etc.
*Studio and recording techniques
*Creating inventive bass lines in a band

Advanced
Got the chops but want to learn to read music notation and charts

*Invaluable skills needed to transcribe bass lines, read charts in.musicals, shows and function gigs.

All levels involve the use of music software to aid the teaching process - especially groove playing and walking bass lines. The tuition is always based on the pupil's individual needs and with the emphasis on live performance. Steve also caters for pupils wanting to work through programmes aimed at taking exams, such as Rockschool and RGT.

Steve gives home electric and double basss tuition in the following areas:
